Last week when I was on the hunt for vegan protein powder at GNC, I stumbled across Nuts ‘N More.
I’m a sucker for peanut butter. Correction: I’m a sucker for good peanut butter. Nuts ‘N More isn’t exactly that, but instead they make high protein nut spreads. I figured I may as well give it a shot though it was a little pricey, mostly because of the name of the flavor I bought: toffee crunch peanut spread.
Much like peanut butter, I’m also a sucker for delicious-sounding descriptions. Let’s dig in, shall we?
Nutrition facts and ingredients for the curious (Note: This isn’t vegan-friendly because it contains whey protein. Better get it in before I fully commit to that I suppose):
Immediately I saw why they call it a peanut spread rather than a peanut butter; the texture is a lot looser so you’ll definitely need to stir before consuming. That said, I found it to be pretty effing awesome. For this particular flavor, I can’t say that I got a whole hell of a lot of toffee taste (or crunch for that matter), but this is a tasty product nonetheless. However, if you like your peanut butter on the sweeter or saltier side, look elsewhere.
Here’s the thing: this is still a nut-based product so there’s a good amount of calories from fat, but if you use it sparingly, I think you’ll be happy with what Nuts ‘N More have going on here. In fact, I enjoyed this so much, I checked out their website (http://www.nuts-n-more.com) and was pleasantly surprised. Nuts ‘N More offers several flavors from a cinnamon raisin almond spread to a sesame cranberry peanut spread.
Yup, I’m going to eventually review all of these.
Nuts ‘N More, you officially have a new fan. Good on you! It’s good timing too because I think I’m in need of a refill.
Edit: As an avid fan of the show, I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t remember this was on Shark Tank. The owners even got an investment from Mark Cuban and Robert Herjavec. Good on them because it’s an awesome product that caught me with no outside influence. High five!
Peace out, party people.
