Are You Fulfilling Your Dreams?

dream

I had a post ready for today, but I decided to switch things up because this week has been a breakthrough for me.

Five months ago I decided to give a middle finger to the doldrums of everyday life and find my own path.

And now my savings account looks like it went on the Paleo Diet.

But what’s a guy to do when he has a dream? Should he toss it aside for an easier path? Should he settle for comfort and familiarity?

My dreams probably don’t seem like much to anyone else, but it takes a lot to actively run away from a guaranteed payday (I kid you not, I just turned down an offer for a pretty well-paying job) in order to pursue a dream. I’m willing to give almost anything up to live life on my terms.

I’m not patting myself on the back. Although I made a huge step forward this week (at least I hope), I have a ways to go. The difference is, I’ve finally confirmed it’s possible to carve a unique path.

I’m just a random Jamaican kid from Paterson, New Jersey. I’m not the fastest. I’m not the smartest. I’m not the best looking. I’m not the funniest. I’m certainly not the richest.

I’m not a superlative.

But I am the guy who’s within arm’s length of catching his dream.

I’m also the guy with nothing to lose who believes in himself to a ridiculous degree.

Are you really going to let some Jamaican kid from Paterson, New Jersey reach his before you even start on yours?

Just saying.

Peace out, party people.
