Fifty episodes in the bag! I’m pretty proud of myself for sticking with the podcast thing and I plan to keep it going. My fiance and I celebrate this episode by embracing our ADD and talking about Mexican cartels, grilled cheese sandwiches, growing up thinking the brontosaurus is real, the sexiness of various Saved By the Bell cast members, the meaning of the word bougie, and more! Enjoy!
What’s up, everyone? It’s been about a month since my last #PatersonBeautiful update, so here are some new pictures. Also, I’m working with some cool people to make #PatersonBeautiful more than just a set of pictures. Stay tuned for more details!
After my Cinnabon experience last weekend, Leaf and I kick things off with some foodie talk, why healthy food is more expensive, large scale grassroots activism, the BS game of inequality we have as a global culture, and Dre enters rant mode. Sounds like a great way to spend a Thursday to me!
I didn’t have a guest for this week’s episode so I’d like to talk about a project I want to start called Paterson Beautiful. Paterson, New Jersey is an area that once had many jobs and industries, but things fell off after WWII. How can we work together to make this a city of prominence once more? Maybe this is a possible answer.
Leaf actually made it two weeks in a row. Cue slow clapping. We endure Leaf’s bad jokes and find out why he’s a cranky old man, dive into the wild world of eSports, discuss my desire to make Paterson, NJ a better place, and wax political on the rise and downfall of a**holes in our global culture. Click play. You don’t want to be an a**hole.
First Leaf cancels on me, now my girlfriend? As a great man once said, “What’s the dealy, yo?” Whatever; I’m running the show again today! It’s a good ol’ fashioned rambling fest as I talk about the possibility of a television-focused podcast, crowd sourced projects, the innovative side of the internet, and bringing cooperation back to communities.
Okay, so I’m finally going forward with my #PatersonBeautiful project to highlight the beauty of Paterson, NJ rather than all the negativity. Support the cause and check out my Instagram (themindofdre) or just check them out here! Either way, I hope this casts a softer light on this place that is (justifiably) hard and sometimes scary on the surface. Check out some pics I’m posting today! (Thanks to my awesome girlfriend for the last two photos)
